Happy Valentine's Day! Do y'all have any big plans with your significant other or a relaxing night to yourself planned? Aria and I will be spending the night in with little Benjy. We celebrated Valentine's Sunday night by going to dinner at One Fifth located in Montrose. Since we crate Benjy during the day while we are at work, I prefer to not do anything during the week so that he can be out all evening.
Aria and I have never done a photo shoot together before, so it was an interesting experience. We laughed a lot and had a great time. I was having so much trouble finding the perfect Valentine's Day dress that I was about ready to give up. I originally wanted a pink outfit, but when I came across this tulle skirt I fell in love. I've been wanting a tulle skirt and I also liked the fact that it wasn't an ordinary Valentine's Day color. The floral printed top goes exceptionally well with the color of the skirt and it is only $22! In fact, my skirt + top + shoes are under $100; what a steal! My pom pom earrings are incredibly lightweight, which I cannot say about my other statement earrings.
Aria loves these navy pants and they're a great price, so if you know of any guy in the search of some navy chinos that won't break the bank, these are it. Aria is a much more frugal person than I when it comes to buying clothes, but over the years I have gotten him to buy more clothing items/accessories (I'm a bad influence) and fashion forward pieces. I love the color pink and especially when Aria wears it. If you love pink, but your guy doesn't, this is a great button up to get them started. The pink is subtle and not over the top. I bought Aria his Bulova watch for Valentine's Day a couple years ago. It is classic and can be worn with anything. This year I bought him the MVMT watch from my Valentine's Gift Guide.
One Fifth opened less than a month ago by Chris Shepherd (from Underbelly). The restaurant building is on a 5 year lease, so One Fifth will have a new concept about once a year. The decor, staff uniforms and menu will all change. That's an awesome idea and I can't wait to go back once everything has transitioned into a new concept. My favorite dishes from Sunday night were the roasted oysters and Pommes Aligote. I'm typically not a huge fan of oysters, but since these were roasted, we decided to give them a try. They were seasoned impeccably and had just the right amount of crunch. Our waiter described the Pommes Aligote as "How the French eat mashed potatoes; half potato and half cheese". It was amazing, but I'm sure not the healthiest of options. Overall, this is a great restaurant and y'all should check it out!
