Happy Groundhog Day! According to Punxsutawney Phil the groundhog, winter isn't leaving anytime soon, but with the lack of winter Houston has had, or anywhere in the South really, I'm not sure how accurate that is (sorry Phil!). I am so ready for Spring and the colors that come with it, which you can probably tell from my gift guide!
I have put together a Spring- inspired Galentine's Gift Guide; everything is under $100, and half of the items are under $50! I have the Anthropologie candle in Wild Honeysuckle, and it smells amazing. The print on the candle gives a Spring vibe to any area and the glass it's in is extremely sturdy. I know from personal experience -- I had just put up a new wall shelf and to decorate it I put a framed picture and the candle on the shelf. Long story short, I came home from work one day to find that the shelf had shifted and its contents had both fallen onto my hardwood floor; the drop didn't even phase the candle, but sadly I can't say the same for the picture frame. So if you have a friend who's accident prone, this is the candle for them! I also have the pastel striped top (will be featured in a blog post very soon) and the colors are even more vibrant in person.
These gifts can be given to all of the wonderful women in your life, ranging from a best friend to your grandmother. If you're a DIY person, I found these adorable Paper Valentine Fortune Cookies on Pinterest. They seem super easy to make and I'll be giving them a try!
Tonight Aria and I are having dinner at Steak48 in the River Oaks District. We haven't eaten there before, but we've heard it's great for people watching, especially with Houston hosting the Superbowl this weekend. Afterwards we are going to see The Chainsmokers and Sam Hunt at Club Nomadic. I'm sad I'll be missing Shonda Rhimes' TGIT, but I'm particularly excited to see The Chainsmokers perform; have you heard their new single "Paris"? It's currently my favorite song, if you haven't heard it click here!
I hope you have found some guidance on the perfect Galentine's gift or have found something you'd like to show your significant other (as a subtle hint). Have a tantalizing Thursday!
