Where to Stay: The Gastonian
We decided to stay in a bed and breakfast rather than a traditional hotel and I’m so glad we did! Since we drove in from Atlanta, we didn’t make it in until 2am and they were so kind and understanding! The staff is extremely personable and accommodating! We stayed in the Garden Room which is technically separate from the main house so I really liked that we had our own private space. The room was extremely spacious and we had zero complaints! I’d definitely recommend staying here when you visit Savannah; they’re ranked extremely well and did not disappoint!

Hilton Head
Hilton Head is only a 45 minute drive from Savannah so we decided to drive here for an evening to check out a beach and watch the sunset. We ate at this place called Hudson’s which overlooks the beach so the view was amazing for sunset, but the food and cocktails were meh.
Tybee Island
We drove out to Tybee Island our last morning to check out the lighthouse. It was only a 20 minute drive, so I think it’s worth checking out and you can go to the beach as well! Aria went up the lighthouse, but I only took a photo with it😁 {my feet got rubbed raw and had blisters from not wearing appropriate shoes so I was trying to do the least amount of walking possible}

Definitely pack comfortable shoes so that you can explore by foot - which is the best way! Most attractions are within a mile radius, so even though it's fairly easy to find parking, I'd recommend walking! There's so many beautiful houses that it's easier to stop walking rather than stop driving and have to get out to take a photo!
Food
Narobia's Grits & Gravy
Very very good and nonstop busy! As we walked up I was thinking we would have to wait since it was completely packed with people waiting, but thankfully a lot of people do take out. I don’t think you can go wrong with anything you get, but we had the French toast and the biscuits and gravy. The biscuits and gravy were the most flavorful ones I’ve ever had!
For the other two days we ate breakfast at The Gastonian since it was included in our stay and it didn’t disappoint. On Sunday I had the strawberry and banana stuffed French toast and omg so so good! One lady there claimed that’s the best French toast she’s ever had! You also get a honey butter biscuit with your meal for breakfast and omg they were so so good!!
A couple other breakfast places we had on our list was Clary’s and Collins Quarter; we didn’t try either but both had good reviews!
Lady and Sons
We last minute decided to go here for lunch and we had mixed thoughts. The buffet was meh except for the cornbread casserole which was amazing 🤤 I ordered the shrimp and grits and those were more Cajun like than others I’ve had, but I really enjoyed them!
Leopold’s Ice Cream
This gets very very busy with nearly a mile long line out the door! Luckily we went during a non peak time and only waited for 5 minutes {thankfully} definitely not worth waiting for an excessive amount of time.
Vic’s on the River
Loved the biscuits but didn’t think our shrimp and grits were anything great (the waiter mentioned they won best shrimp and grits in town)! We also had crawfish beignets and those were actually pretty good.
The Olde Pink House
We enjoyed the food here a lot! A must get if you go are the shrimp and grits as an appetizer. Instead of the typical style it’s a grits patty. We also had mac and cheese jalapeño poppers, bacon mashed potatoes and a braised pork shank served with collard greens and mac and cheese😋 they also had really good cornbread and rosemary biscuits! This was a lot of food so we ended up with leftovers and ate it for lunch the next day. We didn’t order any drinks here, but I overheard people saying the cocktails were too sweet!
OK Cafe (Atlanta)
Lately I’ve been craving white country gravy so I looked up best chicken fried steak and this place ranked number 3, so we decided to give it a go! It is such a cute place; the waitresses are also dressed up in traditional diner 50s outfits! We got a caramel milkshake, chicken fried steak and meatloaf and we enjoyed it! We got there at 4:30pm and it was pretty packed already so it seems to be very popular!
Overall we enjoyed Savannah, however I’m not sure if we’ll ever go back. It’s kinda a mix between New Orleans and Charleston. We just didn’t think it was anything special and it’s also extremely humid. Aria called Savannah “The Ghetto Charleston” and I’d have to agree😂 The picturesque oak trees with Spanish moss are definitely a must see once though!
